Eastwood Expo Center
Three GriffonRawl fighters made their debuts down at the Eastwood Expo Center in Niles OH for the IFBL "Fight Night 6," Mike Lachina, Nick Goldizen, and Ryan Lardie.Leading the night off for GriffonRawl, with the 5th fight on the card, was Judo Instructor, Mike Lachina. In the first round Mike scored with a hard slam on his opponent Chris Tripi. The round went back and forth until the bell ended rd 1. Mike was unable to continue in the second due to a problem with his contact and was unable to see.The 8th fight on the card, was Nick Goldizen who looked very impressive in his debut, and was the only fighter who's opponent already had a few fights under their belt. Nick squared off against Dana Coon (2-1). When Nick would jab, Coon did well shooting underneath, taking Nick down. Though it was Nick dictating the pace, scoring with palm strikes to the head, and working his deadly ground game. Lucky to make it out of the 1st, Coon was able to slip out of a guillotene, a couple armbars and a triangle. In the 2nd though, Coon wouldn't be so lucky. Nick sunk an armbar in so deep, locking up both Coon's arms, making him verbally tap as soon as it was applied. That brought us to our final fighter on the card, Ryan Lardie, the 12th fight. Surprisingly it wasnt Lardie's ground game getting the oohs, and ahs, but his stand up as he scored again and again with hard strikes to his opponent's, John Whitten's head. Lardie looked very impressive in his debut, scoring with strikes, and a vicious slam. At the end of the first you could tell Ryan was all buisness, staring his opponent down on the way back to his corner. It wouldn't be far into the 2nd when Ryan took Whitten down and sunk an armbar of his own causing him to tap, improving GriffonRawl's record for the night to 2-1.Thanks to all friends and family who made the long trip to support our fighters.Written by:Chuck Kroeger
